The City of St. Anthony is a rare first-ring suburb that has managed to maintain its small-town feel. This neighborhood-oriented community is a great jumping off point for work and play since it has convenient access to Hwy. 35W and nearby Hwy. 694 - plus, it is only five miles from downtown Minneapolis, and eight miles from downtown St. Paul.

St. Anthony Village, as it is affectionately known, straddles Hennepin and Ramsey counties and enjoys many benefits from both. The residents, however, pride themselves on their self reliance, funding its own school district, fire and police departments.

For many years, St. Anthony was considered completely built up. Now that older sections are being revitalized, city officials are taking special care to maintain the qualities that make "The Village" a desirable place to call home.

Silver Lake Village is one of the first of these revitalization projects. Located on the site formerly occupied by Apache Plaza, this mixed retail and housing district has introduced several new shops, dining establishments - and even a new health clinic - to the St. Anthony economy. The development also includes an increasingly popular gathering point, Salo Park. Over the past summer, the park hosted several musical groups and events at its amphitheater, a unique feature of the Village.
